To create your Sidecars and other cocktails you will need:

  • Glassware
  • A shaker (check out our Mixologist kit)
  • A jigger (measurer)
  • Plenty of ice
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • 1-2 cloves
  • A TASTE Sidecar Kit or the below ingredients

Each kit contains:

Recipes

Usually a Sidecar would be made with Cognac, however we have chosen a beautiful Armagnac which complements the orange flavour in the triple sec.

The Sidecar

  • 30ml Armagnac
  • 15ml Triple Sec
  • 15ml Fresh lemon juice
  • Lemon peel to garnish

This is the original recipe but it can be spuced up by using Grand Marnier instead of triple sec.

Shake all the ingredients with ice, then fine strain into a coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon.

The Christmas Sidecar

Perfect for this time of year; warming, spiced, ginger, and orange…it’s Christmas in a cocktail!

  • 40ml Armagnac
  • 15ml Fresh orange juice
  • 10ml Grand Marnier
  • 5ml Ginger liqueur
  • 1-2 Cloves

Muddle the cloves in the base of your shaker, then add all the ingredients and shake with plenty of ice. Fine-strain into a chilled glass.

Desir Noir

This is a sweet chocolate orange twist on the classic.

  • 40ml Armagnac
  • 20ml Grand Marnier
  • 10ml Cacao liqueur

Shake all the ingredients together with ice and fine-strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a long, thin spiral of orange peel draped over the rim of the glass.

Alternative recipes…

If none of the above tickle your fancy or you have some of the following ingredients already then why not have a go at some of these:

Brandy Buck

  • 30ml Armagnac
  • 5ml Grand Marnier
  • 5ml Lemon Juice
  • Ginger Ale

Shake armagnac, Grand Marnier and lemon juice together with ice. Pour into a chilled glass and top with Ginger Ale.

Or another great Christmas cocktail:

Christmas cocktail

  • 20ml Cognac
  • 15ml Grand Marnier
  • 10ml Campari
  • 85ml Champagne
  • Slice of orange to garnish

Place the Cognac, Grand Marnier and Campari in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a coupe glass, top with the Champagne and a slice of orange.
